▷━━━━━━━━━━◁

The autumn sun shines brightly through leaves and branches. The robes of the people and trees stand out in warm brown-orange-yellow-green tones from the deep blue of the water, on the banks of which the scene takes place: Lake Thun on the northern edge of the Alps.

The painting, the quality of which no one questions today, was one of the first pictures that August Macke painted during his stay in Hinterfingen from October 1913.  (the painting description from LWL Museum for Art and Culture)
